I have had a struggle with my weight for as long as I can remember, very much a yo-yo dieter. I never had any problem shifting the weight until I became a Type 1 Diabetic.
In 2008 I had been diagnosed, from then on weight just kept going on, my health was not doing so good with the blood sugars, I felt lethargic, no confidence and no get up and go.
Yes I tried everything over the years, nothing seemed to be working, I was starting to become very depressed.
Happen to come across an article for Metabolic Balance, not holding out much hope but would listen to what Melisa had to say.
My appointment arrived, I remember sitting with Melisa with tears rolling down my face. This day changed my life, Melisa explained how the program worked, what changes would need to take place, but most of all reassured me I was not alone in the process, I could always ask for help.
I started the program just after Easter 2021, Melisa and I sat down and discussed the best plan of action. Not going to lie, the first couple of days where a challenge, not used to drinking so much water, again Melisa gave me her tip on how she manages to drink the amount that is needed, which worked perfect for me. I found the menu very easy to stick to, I did meal prep for the week which I found helped me. I have acquired different tastes since starting MB, I now prefer goat and sheep cheese to regular cheese. The foods I used to eat I can honestly say I am not missing them. I do enjoy my cheat meal each week 🙂
Over a year on, I have lost 30 kgs, reduced the medication I am on. Go for a 30 min walk each day (try to anyway) and even hit the gym 3 times a week.
My confidence had grown, have so much more energy, it is also so nice to be able to buy clothes off the rack.
